I grew up in Houston and most of my family and many dear friends are there. During the time that Hurricane Harvey was stalled along the Texas coast and pounding away at Houston and surrounding areas with days of constant deluge on top of record flooding already in progress, high winds and tornado warnings all day long, I was worried sick and felt so very helpless. I decided to put all that worry energy into a song of hope and a celebration of the Human Spirit. I tried to put myself in the place of a person dealing with flooding to my roof and what would be going through my mind. The verses became the part of me that was in fear and the choruses became the part of me that was in hope. I told a friend about the song and she suggested I make downloads available and give the proceeds to relief efforts. I am so happy she did!

Last Night
Suddenly there was nothing more important than you
And all our world was rushing by under our roof
We clung to each other and our hope
And never let loose
Never let loose
When the water rises I will take your hand
And never let go
When the water rises I will hold to the hope
And never let go
Last night
Never was moment so dark and filled with fear
And Everyone I love thats so far I held em so near
Would help come before the water, made it up here, made it up here
When the water rises I will take your hand
And never let go
When the water rises I will wait for the sun
And never let go
Here at the edge when everything's lost
I still have my name I still have my purpose
And all I want to do live
For one more moment with you
And all that left to do
One more chance to say I love you
Last night
All at once a light came from the sky
And a line that lowered with a friend on the other side
They took you in their arms and with a wave began to rise
And they never let go
Never let go, never let go
When the water rises I will take your hand
And never let go
When the water rises I will look for the light
And never let go
When the water rises will you take my hand
And never let go
When the water rises will you wait for me
And never let go
